Industrial Automation

The release of the iPad marks a major change in the computer industry. For the first time ever, a tablet has enough computing power and graphics processing power to become the front end of any complex industrial machine.

Using the iPad as the control tablet of a machine is now a natural evolution in Industrial Automation.

Sophisticated machine control interfaces may be created on the fly based on context-sensitive information. Operators no longer have to be find their way through the hundreds of real controls of a machine. Instead they will have a user-friendly context based control panels that can even adapt as they walk from machine to machine.

Intellicore has developed secure industrial machine control protocols for communication and control as well  as front-end control interfaces for iPad and iPhone.

The end scenario we are currently working towards is the one where the site manager may walk up to any machine and then by using his iPhone or iPad, recover sensor readings and control the settings of the machine. The iPhone and iPad are of course connected to a back-end server for access to all related past history and documentation.
